We at Saxonburg Memorial believe that we have a wonderful team of folks from top to bottom. All of our staff are very gifted and talented.  They are authentic, loving, and dynamic Christian leaders.  Learn more about each of them below.

Senior Pastor

Rev. Douglas M. Dorsey

  Send Email  •  (724)352-2888

Doug felt God’s call into pastoral service some twenty-five years ago. Through reading, listening to God’s Word and being open to the Holy Spirit, he was led to follow God’s call and to enter into full-time ministry. He had begun his chosen career as an insurance broker and planned on continuing in that industry for many years, but God had other plans.

For Doug, it is an honor to be a Teaching Elder/Minister of the Word and Sacrament in the PCUSA, and his call has been confirmed throughout his ministry. He was blessed to grow up in a Christian home where the church was a central part of his life and that of his family. He has always had faith in Jesus Christ and a love of people.

Doug is a friendly, compassionate person with a desire to help and support others. As he looks back on his life, he clearly sees God’s providential hand guiding him and he knows that He always had a definite plan for him. The Lord has used many diverse aspects and experiences of Doug’s life to help him become the minister he is today.

Director of Children's Ministry

Molly Raraigh

Molly loves children.  Plain and simple.  Molly loves the Lord.  Equally true.  Couple these things with enthusiasm, creativity and a great sense of humor and you have Molly.  When you see her in action doing the Children's sermon on Sundays, leading Vacation Bible School, or coordinating so many things involving children of all ages in the church, you'll know why we are grateful for Molly.

Director of Music Ministry

Dan Byerly

  Send Email  •  (724)352-2888

Dan is a singer, hymn writer, choir director, band leader, pianist, and organist. Originally from Sharon, PA, Dan grew up with music all around. From piano lessons, to school and church choirs, to solo singing, Dan cannot remember a time music did not play a significant part in his life and especially in his spiritual development. Several years ago, Dan set out to pursue a career as an opera singer. But God in his wisdom has guided Dan on a path toward leading and strengthening music for the Church. Dan draws on a wide range of musical experiences to endeavor to bring something fresh to each piece.

Dan is convinced that the music of the church should be a vibrant element of worship which helps to point us to the truths of God’s Word in Holy Scripture. It is his earnest desire that the music ministry at SMPC presents music with excellence to the glory of our great God. Dan has been strengthened in his own faith by the sound of a congregation boldly singing hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in their hearts to God, in the name of the Lord Jesus. It is his hope and prayer that others will be emboldened in their faith by the music of worship at SMPC.
