We at Saxonburg Memorial believe that we have a wonderful team of folks from top to bottom. All of our staff are very gifted and talented.  They are authentic, loving, and dynamic Christian leaders.  We offer a little more about them here:

Senior Pastor

Rev. Douglas M. Dorsey

Send Email  •  (724)352-2888

Doug felt God’s call into pastoral service some twenty-five years ago. Through reading, listening to God’s Word and being open to the Holy Spirit, he was led to follow God’s call and to enter into full-time ministry. He had begun his chosen career as an insurance broker and planned on continuing in that industry for many years, but God had other plans.

For Doug, it is an honor to be a Teaching Elder/Minister of the Word and Sacrament in the PCUSA, and his call has been confirmed throughout his ministry. He was blessed to grow up in a Christian home where the church was a central part of his life and that of his family. He has always had faith in Jesus Christ and a love of people.

Doug is a friendly, compassionate person with a desire to help and support others. As he looks back on his life, he clearly sees God’s providential hand guiding him and he knows that He always had a definite plan for him. The Lord has used many diverse aspects and experiences of Doug’s life to help him become the minister he is today.

CLP Youth Pastor

Carmen Shullo

Send Email

Of all things Carmen loves his relationship with Jesus Christ most. That relationship bubbles over to his lovely wife Maria, and their six kids; Erica, Christin, Carmen, Melissa, Robert, Shayla and his two Grandsons; Carmen & Benjamin. He loves his role as a husband, a father, and grandfather. The transition to the children of this church is, by Carmen's description; "an absolute blessing, they make my Wednesday and Thursday nights special".

Before engaging Saxonburg and the surrounding areas as our Commissioned Lay Pastor and Youth Pastor, Carmen enjoyed a successful career in administration in the automotive industry where he managed facilities. He enjoyed streamlining operations, helping individual departments work together and simplifying customer processes.  His care for people upheld customers as the main focus, internal or external.  Carmen was known in the Western Pennsylvania area by his colleagues and customers for his passion to get things done and lift up those around him in the complex world of the auto industry.

Carmen heads, among other things, Saxonburg Memorial's Youth Program which represents up to five surrounding school districts.  He ias central to many things in our church and community. He is the FCA charactor coach in our local school district and enjoys his time in and around the different sports activities, concerts, musicals, and the Wednesday morning Bible Study led by the students.

It was in the fall of 1999 that God, through our church, called on Carmen.  It is fortunate for so many that he answered.

Scott and Shawn Cole

Send Email

We have been fortunate to have Scott and Shawn Cole as Directors of Music at Saxonburg Memorial since 1996.  Scott and Shawn lead our Music Ministry at SMPC.  This includes our Adult Choir which is part of Worship on Sundays.  There are many special programs and other things that they do, and these are described in the Music Ministry tab in the Ministries section of this site.

Director of Children's Ministry

Molly Raraigh

Molly loves children.  Plain and simple.  Molly loves the Lord.  Equally true.  Couple these things with enthusiasm, creativity and a great sense of humor and you have Molly.  When you see her in action doing the Children's sermon on Sundays, leading Vacation Bible School, or coordinating so many things involving children of all ages in the church, you'll know why we are grateful for Molly.

Barb is our intersection of information and communication.  She is also Saxonburg Memorial's  face to the public and we are grateful that she is here.
